Dr. Lydia Reid has been setting the highest standards of excellence in the area of speech and language since 1994. She is a Native of Miami, FL. She is a certified speech-language pathologist/Myofunctional therapist. She received extensive education, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Psychology, and her Master’s at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She earned her Clinical Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern Eastern. She has a certification in Neuro Developmental Treatment, and special training in Aquatic Therapy and Hippo Therapy for infants and young children with neuromusculature dysfunction. She is certified in Prompt therapy for children who suffer from apraxia, has an ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) Certification, is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist with Intensive Training (ASDCS), and has extensive training in Conductive Education (a multi-disciplinary approach to educating children with cerebral palsy and other neurological and motor disorders). She also specializes in identifying individuals who may benefit from genetic services. Doctor Reid is ASHA certified. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)

Dr. Reid has provided pediatric diagnostic and intervention services in various settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private practice settings, home-based settings, and special and public school settings. Prior to opening her own private practice she clinically supervised speech and language pathology students in private settings and was an adjunct professor at Florida International University in South Florida. She has also conducted several in-service treatment labs on rib cage mobility and vocal production.


Dr. Reid has published research studies related to Neuro-Developmental Treatment on Airflow and Sustained Phonation in Children with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, Language Comprehension Performance of African-American Children, and she has Developed a tool that aid Speech Language Pathologist in distinguishing phonological differences versus phonological disorder in children who speak African-American English.


In her spare time, she enjoys, Lifting weights with her sons, Pilates, Capoeira (Brazilian Martial Arts), Jam Skating, and spending time with her two children and husband.

Dr. Reid enjoys treating children of all ages and is trained to identify, evaluate, and rehabilitate children, adolescents and young adults with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Cleft Palate, Autism, Developmental Delay, ADD/ADHD, Hearing Impairment, Brain Injury/Neurological Impairments. 


She has extensive clinical experience in addressing a variety of communication impairments including disorders of speech sound production(articulation)/apraxia, dysarthia, and motor speech; orofacial myofunctional disorders; disorders of swallowing also known as dysphagia; oral motor/feeding difficulties; disorders of early language development/language delay; auditory processing disorders; stuttering or fluency disorders; and voice disorders.
